Outdoor pavement maintenance and care

How you should maintain and care for your outdoor paving depends on your contractor’s choice of binder.

To give your coating the best possible conditions, Stonewalk always recommends that you consult with the contractor who installed the coating.

The contractor can tell you how often you need to clean your pavement and which cleaning agents to use.

By following the contractor’s instructions, your outdoor paving will look great and function for years to come.

Stapled or bound?

Types of outdoor paving

Below are two examples of outdoor paving using Stonewalk materials.
One is stapled and the other is bound.

Although both versions provide a slip-resistant and hardwearing result,
there are key differences between the two coatings.

A bonded coating has a longer lifespan than a stapled coating
– but a higher price per square metre. And where a stapled coating has a more rustic, natural look,
there is also an increased chance of stones breaking loose.
